Game Night

A few Gold Rush Champions puppy raisers came over tonight for game night and puppy playtime. In attendance were: Azuki, Sabina, Spunky, Sheriff, Dove and Jane. It was a lot of fun for the puppies and humans alike! The dogs played for a little over an hour on the tennis court and are definitely going to be tired tomorrow! While we played Cards Against Humanity the dogs had to practice their downs, they did very well.

Great practice...

Battier has been perfect at my chiropractic appointments! We go 3 times a week to see Dr. Heather Dehn  and Battier is just a champ! Dr. Dehn has 2 Shih Tzu' that she brings in alternating days. It's awesome that she loves dogs too! If you're in Sacramento and looking for a GREAT Chiropractor definitely give Dr. Dehn's office a call!

Today I also had blood drawn and Battier did very well in the waiting room and in the room where I had my blood drawn. It was pretty busy in the waiting room and she did perfect auto-sits and laid down right in front of me when I asked her to. People sitting around us commented on how good she is, they were also surprised that she is still only 6.5 months old.

After the appointments it was off to the office. Battier likes to bring me her toys when she's on a "release", I like to let her have some free time in the office during long days. When on a release she can move around and be a dog, but still a very good dog. She's not allowed to chew things that aren't her toys, sniff things or anything would be inappropriate for a service dog to do.

Battier's wondering if it's play time yet??

Hanging out by my chair.

Before this picture Battier was sleeping all the way under the desk, it's amazing that she fit under there.

We get a lot of practice on stairs at the office.

A working dog...

It's been a busy week with chiropractor and x-ray appointments from the car accident last week. Battier is getting a lot of training in different environments with different smells and people. Today I had x-rays taken and Battier did very well. She stayed in a locked waiting room next to the x-ray room and didn't move while I was having my x-rays taken.

Before the x-ray we were waiting in the waiting room and a woman probably in her 80's had just finished her x-rays, Battier wagged her tail when she saw her and when the woman talked to her. Battier held her down stay, but her tail was wagging pretty hard. After she laid her head down I asked the woman if she would like Battier to say hi and she said yes and just loved visiting Battier, it was very cute. She might like work as a Facility Dog :)

After the appointments we went to the office and Battier did well hanging out by my desk.
She even fell asleep with a toy in her mouth.

When we got home it was time for more fun!
Look at that tail! Such a happy girl!

A little playtime for Battier!

Battier is such a happy puppy! My Dad calls her "Wiggle Butt". I don't think she's ever sad, which is great! She loves people, dogs, cats, birds and pretty much everything.

It's been a busy week at the office. Battier has been doing a lot of laying down, which is great practice! Her down is awesome and she'll stay in my office without moving while I do things at other desks or downstairs.

I'll work on getting a video of her at work soon.

Low key weekend and busy Monday

On Friday Battier and I were rear ended when I stopped for a school bus with flashing red lights. A truck came up behind us after I was stopped and hit us at about 40 mph. Thankfully my Cadillac is strong and took the force pretty well. Battier and I are safe and she's acting fine, I'm sore, but getting better everyday it seems. We had a pretty relaxing weekend at home and watching some friends in the Dimes Classic.

The games were fun and another great training opportunity for Battier. She slept most of the games and would only get up when released to say hi to my friends after the games.

Today we had a busy day at the office. Monday's are busy and Battier did well just hanging out. She's such a good girl and such a joy to be around!

Since we had a long day I let Battier swim when we got home, she loves swimming! I started her off with her life jacket, but also wanted to give her a bath since she gets dirty at our office, it's a bus company and we walk through the shop a lot. I took off her life jacket and wanted to see what she would do, she definitely knows how to swim! She loves jumping high off the step into the pool, it's very cute!

Now we're watching the NBA playoffs! They've been great this year!!

Skydiving!

Today was a fun day! We went to Sky Dance Sky Diving in Davis to watch our friend Wendy jump out of an airplane in memory of her husband and our friend Dave Johnson. CCI friend and graduate Peggy also jumped! It was such a wonderful day. Last month Dave died in a tragic car accident, one of his bucket list items was to sky dive, Wendy fulfilled one of his wishes today!
