Great Grandma Shawn's 10th Birthday party!

Yesterday we celebrated Great Grandma Chandra's (Shawn) 10th Birthday! Everyone had a great time and I think the dogs are all still at least a little tired today!

New toy!

Today Battier and I went to Petco and picked up a new toy from West Paw Design! We love their toys! They are durable, float and made in the USA!

Battier also weighed in at 45.2 lbs today!

On Saturday we went to a memorial for a friend, CCI puppy raiser and Breeder Caretaker Dave Johnson. It was a beautiful service and day for Dave. There were over 100 dogs in attendance and probably more than 300 people. Everyone dressed in Hawaiian shirts or bright colors and the dogs received some great Hawaiian bandanas and ribbons made by a puppy raiser across the country.

Battier and Kemp! Both Tosca II puppies.

Sunday was a beautiful day! We went to the Capitol and played a card game on the lawn. There was a live band on the steps of the Capitol and many people around. This was a great training opportunity for Battier.

Battier likes to lay on top of Shawn when we're in the car. Silly puppy!

Sac State Tennis and Puppy Class

Today was a beautiful day in Sacramento and the first day of Spring. I took Battier to my alma mater Sac State to watch the tennis teams play a match! Growing up a tennis player it was fun to be out there again and supporting! Battier did very well with the tennis balls bouncing everywhere, people on skateboards, bikes, golf carts and more. I allow people to pet her as long as she holds her position and she doesn't lick. She is really improving on not licking.
It was sunny so Battier put on some sunglasses!
Go Hornets!!

After watching tennis it was off to Roseville for class at the Galleria. We worked on "wait" at a doorway, walking slowly on the stairs and a lot of "unders" at different locations. Battier needed a little help, after I taught her "up" she thinks that's what she needs to do when we walk up to objects. By the end of class she was doing nice "unders". We also worked on sit from a down which can be tough for dogs.

Bath Time!

Yesterday Battier and Great Grandma Shawn went to Pet Food Express for bath time! This was Battier's first time in a dog wash (other than at CCI when she was 8 weeks old). She did alright with the water and was not so sure about the dryer, but she just stood there and let me use the dryer on her. Battier does like to be dried with the towels! While I was giving them their baths a lot of people walked by to say how cute Battier is! They're definitely right :) She's all fresh and clean for the first day of Spring!
