Our Dog Fest committee has been working very hard to make this event fun! There will be dog demos, vendors, live music, dog adoptions, food trucks, dog painting activities, agility demos and course for your dogs and more! Lisa Gonzales from KCRA will be the emcee for our event!

I sent a donation request in to West Paw Design and they sent this great box! They make the BEST toys and everything is made right here in the US!! Another plus is that the toys are almost indestructible!

Venice Beach

The road trip continued to Venice Beach! Our friend has a house one block from the beach and we had a lot of fun staying with her! Battier did great on the sand. We walked for about an hour on Venice Beach and there's always a lot to see there! People, vendors, dogs, birds, lots of skateboard and just an overall great training experience! Battier did really well with all the distractions.

We're back home now from another long car ride. Battier did well, she was having some anxiety in the car after the accident in April, but she seems to be doing a lot better! Now she's asleep at my feet with a toy in her mouth.

We checked out this beautiful sunset.

Swimming!

Battier just LOVES to swim! Today we tried out the new Go Pro dog harness! It worked great. Battier swam with it on for awhile then I just filmed her. It's been hot here and especially hot today, around 105*!

Road Trip!

On Friday we made the 500 mile trip from Sacramento to Rancho Mirage (Palm Springs).

It was a long trip, but the dogs did great as always.

We made it!

Shawn loves the "visit" command.

Is it bed time yet? Battier loves her great-grandma!

11.5 months

Battier and her Bumi from West Paw Design! They make the BEST toys! They float, are pretty much indestructible and are made in the USA! It's also really cool that West Paw donated a big box of toys to our Dog Fest! I emailed them a request and they granted it :)

Reflections....

Still working on vacation. Practicing "under".

Just a little dip in the pool. It's been HOT this week! Over 100* and the pool is the perfect way to cool off. Battier is great about only getting in when invited.

Great-Grandma Shawn knows how to relax!

Does your puppy party?

Battier had Riffraff puppy class tonight. This is her first semester in Riffraff and she's doing great! We practiced heel, side, jump, stand, out and all of these in different environments. There were about 15 dogs in class tonight and it's always a fun for the people at the El Dorado Town Center to see.
Battier at Basic class...waiting for her Riffraff class to start.

JUMP - Mingo (SC), Battier and Spunky (COC, fresh out of college).

Pretty girl.

After we practiced OUT we tied the puppies down to a fence and walked away. Battier was the 2nd puppy to do her OUT command, so she was on a down for awhile. Our trainer Carly walked over the dogs and stumbled towards them and also did some other distractions. Battier was one of the few that didn't move at all during all the distractions. Carly asked if Battier has been to a lot of bars since she didn't care when she stumbled towards her. Thinking about it, Battier has been to a few bars and she has also been to house parties/BBQ's with a lot of friends. She does great in all those situations and it's awesome that it has helped her training. Battier has been around a Pong table since she was 3 months and I taught her to hold her down when we play, it's great training for her to have the pong balls flying and she knows she has to stay. I'm so proud of Battier and how well she's doing in her training!

Bath time!

Today I gave both the dogs baths. Battier doesn't really like baths all that much, but what dog does? She's fine and will stand still when I give her a bath. After when she is released she just LOVES to run around the yard and jump in the bushes. We played on the tennis court after too.

Battier is 58.7 lbs.

After their baths!

Play time on the tennis court. It was hot out today, around 92*
