Last vet check as a puppy in training!

Yesterday Battier went to her last vet check up as a puppy in training. We love Sacramento Animal Hospital and they love Battier too!

Check out the picture on the wall! It's a CCI Grad dog :)

We agree with the exam notes under General Appearance: "best dog ever!"

Battier really is the BEST dog, everyone that meets her falls in love!

Another long overdue update!

Battier went to her first concert last week! Eric Church. It was loud and she was awesome! Battier slept most of the time and did great for the 2+ hour concert.

Trying on some cowboy boots!

We had great seats! Battier just came out for the picture then back under our feet to sleep.

On Saturday we went to the February Big Dog turn in party. We played Musical Commands. After a few rounds the puppy raisers couldn't hold on to the leashes with out hands, we had to have them over our necks. When Carly our trainer would say a command we had to have the dog either SIT, DOWN or STAND. In the picture above we stopped and I had the leash over my neck, I had Battier sit and the leash just dropped this way, she didn't even move it off her face.

Instead of chairs, puppy raisers stood on cones.

Snuggles with our friend Kayte...Battier's favorite person!

15.5 months

We live in Carmichael, about 20 minutes from downtown Sacramento. On our walks we see a lot of wildlife. There are deer in the picture above and turkeys below. Battier doesn't have any prey-drive.

After our long walk Battier came home and ran around the go-kart track.

We've been getting a lot of rain this week. Check out our creek!

Kings game and they won on a buzzer beater!

Morning snuggles. Sometimes I'll let Battier get on the bed with me in the morning. It's great training for them to understand the boundaries of the bed. She has to be invited and when I say "off" she gets off. I don't think she wanted to get up today.

We walked around the Capitol today! It was a beautiful day in Sacramento!

After work drinks and a great training opportunity at Capital Dime on L street. It's a pretty busy area of downtown and the dogs did great!

Sacramento Kings practice

Yesterday Battier had a really cool experience at the Kings practice facility. She went to work with my friend Kayte who does the analysis and radio for the Kings. There she got to see one of her friends, Jason Thompson (JT). She was happy to see him and walked in perfect position with him to the locker room. Thanks to Steven at the Kings for the photos!

Off to the locker room.

New experience! Battier's first concert!

Tonight Battier went to her very first concert. She did an amazing job!! I brought extra dog cookies for her, but she didn't even need them. Battier slept for most of the Eric Church concert.
We had to take this photo of her before leaving for the concert!

Waiting for Eric Church to start after the opening show.

Photo op with the cool stage! Their lights and the way the stage was set up was pretty cool.

This came up out of the floor right by us and Battier just slept.

Long overdue post.

Battier enjoys going to physical therapy with me. When my back is being worked on she sleeps next to the table. Battier is awesome at holding her down and will stay with distractions from other clients. This picture is when I'm getting the ice and stem treatment on my back, I had her do a "lap" and she loved it, it's one of her favorite commands.

On the Sacramento Kings court after their game against Brooklyn.

We arrived at puppy class early. It was SO cold outside for this class. Well, cold for California. Battier is waiting for the Basic puppy class to end so she could start Riffraff.
Close up before puppy class.

It was such a nice day out last Sunday that I had a little puppy play day on the tennis court. Here Battier is pictured with her friends Azuki and Jane. They are all 2 months apart! Azuki is 13 months, Battier 15 months and Jane 17 months.

Half sisters Battier and Jane tugging on a toy, they are both Orent II puppies.

Cuddles with Battier's best friend Kayte.

Sharing toys and cuddle time!

I don't know how this is comfortable!

Open puppy class for all ages. Battier is in the middle with all her equipment off. The older puppies who are turning in in either February or May had the option to take off their equipment and work class like that. Battier was awesome as usual.
Toy distraction from Carly, Battier didn't move.

On a nice 3 mile walk with friends! Here Battier is with Charlie and Great-Grandma Shawn.
Fun photo of 5 good dogs! Shawn, Battier, Charlie, Ella and Mischa.

Tonight we went to the Art of Beer Festival. It was a great training opportunity! There were a lot of people, lots of sounds, music, food, drinks and LOTS of people. We shared information about CCI and let people pet the dogs who asked first.
Battier (15 months) and Destry (6 months) at Art of Beer.

This was an awesome photo opportunity at one of the vendor booths! We asked and they were excited for us to take a picture of the dogs on the motorcycle. Battier really trusts me, that seat was VERY small.

This guy from Saint Archer Brew really wanted a picture with the dogs, we love his sign and want to make one for Dog Fest!

TIRED puppies! Battier was knocked out and Destry wasn't too far behind her.
