Team Battier and update

We would love for you to join our team for DOG FEST WALK 'N ROLL SACRAMENTO!  Dog Fest is Canine Companions for Independence's signature fundraiser. Our goal is to raise $1000 for CCI, an amazing organization that provides service dogs to those who need them free of charge.

We had a meeting at the beautiful Johnson-Springview park! Home to our Dog Fest Walk 'N Roll coming this October 25th. 

It was HOT in Sacramento today and Battier wanted to play in the sprinklers after puppy class. I was definitely okay with it because she was great in class and was so hot on the whole ride home, even with the AC on!

Lake Tahoe

It was a nice relaxing weekend in Tahoe! The dogs loved playing in Lake Tahoe and the weather was perfect! 

Dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant in Tahoe! Super Tacos, a little hole in the wall place with friendly service and great food!

People on the beach were really impressed with how Battier and Shawn behaved. There were a few other dogs, mostly Labs and Goldens and Battier and Shawn did great! 

Battier is back!

I picked up Battier yesterday after not seeing her for 2 weeks! It was great to get her back. I know she had a great time camping on the coast with puppy raiser friends.

I was so exhausted yesterday after working Celebrity Golf for a week that I had some couch time! Battier and Shawn were happy to be home. 

Battier was pretty relaxed! 

Today I went to physical therapy after my car accident and Battier did very well! She hung out in the PT room and just slept while I did my exercises. Next was about an hour pool workout. Battier watched me and slept. It's great practice for her since she may be a Facility Dog someday! The picture above is her waiting while they did the ultrasound, ice and stem machines. Battier is just the best puppy! 

It was back to work for her and I today. This is what she thinks of it!

American Century Celebrity Golf!

I work Celebrity Golf at Lake Tahoe every year, running the player shuttle and today I had a surprise visitor! Battier came to see me with her puppy sitters! It was great to have her hang our for a few hours. She did very well with her down-stays and staying calm when people were petting her. I'm definitely looking forward to getting her back on Monday!

Camping!

This week Battier is with other puppy raisers and they are camping on the Coast! From the reports back, they love Battier and she is doing very well! Battier also gets to camp with CCI Facility Dog Reisig.

Battier was already on the road yesterday when we had out Dog Fest Walk 'N Roll meeting at Johnson-Springview Park. I took Great Grandma Shawn to the dog park and she loved it! There was only one other puppy in the yard so I let her check out the big one. I love this dog park because they have a special section just for service dogs or puppies in training.

JT Elite Basketball Camp week #1

We had a great week at the Jason Thompson - JT Elite Basketball Camp in Sacramento! 

Battier was awesome and all the kids loved her. It was a great training environment for her and she was perfect as usual.

After camp we stayed with JT and friends at his house for the weekend. Battier absolutely had a great time right along with us! The first few days I didn't let her get in the pool, but yesterday JT said it was fine and Battier showed some of her awesome dock diving skills. Battier was awesome the whole weekend. I'm not sure I'll be able to raise another puppy as awesome as she is.
